In March our “3 Peaks in 3 Days” challenge was inhibited due to extreme weather at Ben Nevis. We managed to tackle and bag Scafell Pike on March 28th and Snowdon on March 29th. Now yesterday we finally bagged Ben Nevis!
Scafell Pike was by far my least favourite, I was so tired and poor navigation on behalf of a mate we ended up on the wrong side of the mountain on our decent. Being hit by gale force winds I almost crapped it and we climbed back up to the summit to descend the same route we climbed up. It was rocky like a moonscape and uninteresting.
As is by magic Snowdon was a clear beautiful day and we had a great hike. The views were superb and will not be forgotten. For views and weather Snowdon was my favourite.
Ben Nevis was by far the easiest for me, if it wasn’t for the heavy fog that lurked at the summit it would have been my favourite I am sure. I did not get sore until near the summit and I beat Stewart down which was amazing haha!
Hopefully we will get to bag at least one more Munro before we go to Canada.
