I went for a short walk after work and took some pics but when I got home and loaded my memory card none of them had saved.  Grrrrr…

Then when Stew lit some candles I took the opportunity to try something new.  Photographing fire is a lot harder than I would have anticipated but I looked up some tips at

This shot was taken in manual mode with manual focus, I put the camera on the counter as I do not have a tripod yet.  I tried to make the flame dance a bit by blowing at it.  It was my first time doing everything entirely manually and I am well proud of it!

Oh and the only processing was teensy adjustment to the levels to increase the shadow ever so slightly.

What do you think?

Great shot! And never be ashamed of post-processing! There’s a reason why us photographers invest hundreds of dollars into processing packs and software 🙂
