Today is officially the first day of my 365 project.  I am going to join in the fad and post a photo a day for the next 365 days of my life.

This is me taking a photo of myself with my new Nikon D3000, my first DSLR.  I am just getting into photography so I will be using this as not only a diary of sorts but also as a way to practice photography and blogging in general.

Please feel free to post comments with any tips or tricks you would like to share!

First you need to learn about depth of field. Not being used here. The background also needs to be in focus unless you ae intenionally trying to blurr it.
    Good Luck

Ill be visiting you for some lessons when I get home!! I blurred it intentionally, but I don’t know what you are on about with the “depth of field” though. I will research this.

#5 is good example of trying to get depth of field. Back of banna still out of focus as with the far front. If you have the camera set at auto mode try switching to manual. Most people never use manual, usually letting the camera decide the fstop and speed. Therefore the camera is deciding. But nice creative photo.
